About Spirit of Service
Animals improve lives every day — through companionship, service and support. Nonprofits in Kansas City and around the world work tirelessly to protect animal health and welfare, often with limited resources.
Since 2016, the Kansas City Animal Health Corridor has recognized outstanding organizations and helped raise nearly $250,000 to support their missions.
Honorees are recognized at the annual Animal Health Summit in Kansas City.

On A Mission KC
On A Mission KC is a nonprofit dedicated to helping long-term shelter dogs—the ones often overlooked or forgotten—find the love and stability they deserve.
Founded in 2023 by animal advocate Scott Poore, the organization not only boosts adoption through awareness and support but also works to keep pets in their homes by assisting families in crisis. Since 2016, his efforts have helped over 1,500 dogs find homes and raised $1.5 million for shelters and rescues. On A Mission KC continues that mission—ensuring no dog is left behind.
